The Carlton Gallery • One of the most established Fine Art Galleries in the Western North Carolina High Country celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2012. The Carlton Gallery features a spirited collection of artwork in all mediums from over three hundred local, regional, and national artists and artisans. Besides representing numerous regional artists, the gallery’s owner Toni Carlton, and other notable artists and teachers, present a wide variety of hands-on workshops for participants at all levels of painting and artistic experience.
Founded in 1982, Carlton Gallery presents an inspiring array of original works and exceptional gift ideas for visitors and collectors, including paintings in oils, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media; giclees and limited edition prints; photography, pottery, designer jewelry, sculpture, wood, glass, fiber arts and more. The Gallery conveys a casually elegant atmosphere with the spirit of the local community and summer residents along with artists’ receptions and many exhibitions throughout the season in the High Country of Western NC. Workshops are conducted by standing gallery artists in oils, acrylics, watercolor, drawing, expressive and intuitive arts and mixed media collage. These workshops include traditional and abstract landscapes; still life, figurative and visionary. The gallery is located in the Grandfather Mountain Community between Boone and Banner Elk on Highway 105 and 20 minutes from Blowing Rock.
